I'm on call

I'm feeling good today...as today is the "Malaysia Day"

I'm not going to complain about "Malaysia Day" though....I'm not a politician and nor have good knowledge about the whole thing...

I'm off today!!! Kebetulan my beloved Sabah is on holiday as well....so, I guess all the Sabahans are enjoying their day off and some might have already gone home to kampung halaman from today onwards up to next Monday...

It sounds funny when my Manager asked me to be "on call" today as he's already on 8 days off since this Monday....I've always been "on call" even if he didn't ask for it so it really does not make any different at all...well, he phoned in last night to ask me another favour if I could cover his schedule on next Friday (he's supposed to supervise our juniors) I simply say...it's alright as I don't have plan on that day...

Right! Since i'm "On Call" today..I've been receiving couple of calls from colleagues for help and guidance since 10am (as that's the time the Manager had scheduled for others to call me..hehe..) I opened my webmail and there have loads of email from Oz customers...well, some of them just follow up emails...I don't really bother about those as they've already been dealt with...new issues have to be dealt soon as possible (within 2 hours based on urgency)...even developer had to call me for guidance on how to get connected with customer's server? Thankfully (thanked God) I have a good memory so I could remember the IPs for both VPN and RDP as well as their login credentials...and they've finally able to review/investigate those issues...good luck!

Have a great Malaysia Day chaps!

I'm lovin' it!

Deep down inside, I think it's a waste of money...it's an asset but not a liability I'd say...

Still, I love what I did..finally selepas 4 tahun bekerja dan simpan duit kenen..I decided to buy one of the thing I love when it comes to enjoying movies or party....

Hehe...I'm proud of myself for being able to fork out an amount of money to purchase a Home Theatre Speaker System and a new microfon (our existing mic ada karan - crack) Kehaaa!!! Jew..lepas ni BlueRay DVD player pula ko mau beli kan tu..haha...

I've been saving money since 3 months ago for this particular purchase...well, it's not even in my highest priority puchase but I think it's worth to have it now..it's timely prior to hari Raya (ada diskaun ba and the design as well as performance are worth)

5.1 Channel Home Theatre Speaker System with 12000 Watt P.M.P.O from HK Video (HKV)
- 1 Subwoofer
- 1 Center Channel
- 2 Front Channel
- 2 Rear Channel
- 2 Mic's
I spent about an hour on setting it up and position arrangment...then spent another 2 hours on sound arrangement to my preference both for Astro and DVD Player....the sound is superb!!!! I don't even feel regret on my purchase...and I'm a little amused by the fact that both the remotes for TV and the speaker work on both (tekan remote speaker the TV channel also changed and tekan remote TV, the volume on the speaker pula kana tukar) But no worries....I don't think it's a big deal..haha....

Pity I would not be able to fully utilise the 12000 Watt though...menghormati jiran tetangga ba..hehe..

Are we ready to have another "party" on Raya?????

1Malaysia???

This is a story of a man named Wel....a charming person :) and always calm until it explodes...

I was at the Penang Municipal yesterday afternoon to query about getting dog licenses (Husky and Biggy)..we never had one since Tankerina and it always make me worry whenever we let them out..who lets the dog out pula nanti persoalan dia...

I took the first step yesterday instead of wondering and worrying...I left home an hour earlier than I would usually do and drove straight to Penang Municipal..well, I did call my friend asking where can I apply for dog license in Penang before that though....

I arrived at the Penang Municipal, it was already 13:35...walked straight into the office towards the counter and I saw a tray with a signage "Dog License"...without hesitation, I took a piece of the form and read through its contents...applicable for only RM10 per annum and for dog over 3 months old...then came a Malay lady who asked me if I wanted to apply for dog license - Yes, I answered politely and smiled at her....she replied asking me to fill up the form and wait until 14:00 when the office resumes work...I noded and smiled at her again...she left the counter and I continued what I was doing earlier (read the form)

On the right hand side of that counter is a small partition of another counter and there was a Chinese lady who was leisurely sitting and enjoying her kuaci...I took 3 forms and walked to wards her counter then asked how to fill the form as it has 2 sections (top and bottom) with almost the same details and I was trying to get a confirmation if I were required to fill in details in both sections - Yes she replied. Then she began the interrogation...she asked me if I were Malay (I'm not Malay), asked if my religion were Islam (I'm Christian), asked if I were staying in an apartment or land house (Land-house)....she stopped asking then reminded me of Islam couldn't apply for dog license and will never be granted on any attempt...I reminded her I'm Christian again at this point yet I began to fell uneasy of her remarks at this time....she then asked me from where..I told her that I'm Sabahan....she was a little unsure and made a follow up question by asking me what am I doing in Penang, working?Study?...I replied to her politely, I work here in Penang...I was suprised when she replied me..oh, study....but I just keep it to myself...I then asked her if I need to prepare anything like copy of I.C along with the form...instead of replying to my question, she asked me if I have I.C?????? (Yes I have) another stupid question from her was...IC Malaysia?????? (Yes) and she asked if she could check my I.C...

I wished I could give her a brain wash at this time but Wel is a very calm man..and always be..hehe...I took out my I.C and showed it to her and smiled....with us in that room were 2 makcik and 1 pakcik..I noticed they were watching and listening to our converstation....she then asked where I stay in Penang (Sg. Dua nearby USM campus) then she guessed it correctly by saying I'm renting with other Sabahan...then she asked what I do in Penang...AGAIN??? This time I told her I studied in USM and is now working in Penang....whilst having a stupid conversation with her, I was texting with Jew at the same time (cerita pasal kebuduhan ni perempuan and lesen anjing) Suddenly she asked if I go to pray???What does it has to do with applying for dog license??? (Yes, I'm Christian; walau setahun sekali saja kali pigi church) Then I got the show stopper when she said...I thought Islam cannot have dog.....then another follow up question about Sabahan Malay...I told her in brief there's no Malay in Sabah..we are Bumiputras; KadazanDusun..there have plenty more like Bajau and Murut but there's no Malay in Sabah....once I've said that to her..I decided to end the conversation by saying I will come back later this afternoon when the office has resumed work....she sempat lagi check if I fill up the form correctly (I only fill up the house address) then she kind of reprimanded me and asked why I didn't fill up my name etc...I told her I will fill them up later before coming back this afternoon...before leaving, I smiled at her and thanked her for her "kindness"...

I think, she was just trying to do her job as counter girl...being helpful and being fussy perhaps...I left the office and smiled at the others in the room who were captured into our conversation....

Are we Sabahan ever think of Peninsular as an outsider?? As if Sabah is Malaysia and Peninsular isn't part of Malaysia??

This is utterly bullshit...Do we need to have more adverts on TV (and every where along the road) to show people all over Malaysia that Singapore (now out)+Sabah+Sarawak+Peninsular=Malaysia since 16 September 1963 (postponed from 31 August 1963 due to objection from Philippines and Indonesia)

*Sabah attained self-government on 31 August 1963

Life without it...

Sometimes I question myself of this…

My father is a retired teacher and during his era…earning over RM1500 or even over RM2000 was a big relief for a family as big as ours…6 siblings…what makes it more interesting is that how he managed that amount of salary for us…at that time I didn’t really understand the hardship or earning money but thankfully I wasn’t pampered to have all the things I wished for…perhaps the prices were a little cheap at that time compared to today's prices...Whilst in secondary school, you could buy a fried noodle with an egg for RM0.50...of that time was very delicious!

I’m absolutely 100% sure that I would not dare to have a family of my own with all financial obstacles that might occurred…frankly speaking, my earning is not that much but good enough for a single man…still I’m not dare to say I’m financially secured as a single man…..there were time I’d have extra money and I saved it for something far more important i.e. trip back to Sabah, holiday plan and emergency.....I’ve been spending my money based on priorities since a year ago and it worked out pretty good for me….well, don’t believe me though…it’s not always good…there’s always temptation and I’m thankful enough to be able to deal them quite good….except DVDs…it is the one thing that I would not dare to be taken away off me…it’s now part of me..people sometimes says, they couldn’t live without football or getting high on drug…it is almost the same case for me…I would not hesitate to be a little stingy on other items rather than stopping myself from buying DVDs (I did try a while ago and managed to skip buying DVD for only 2 months) Plus all the appetite destructions (food craving) I’ve been having….things become more easier for me to skip meal over DVDs….moreover, I’d easily get bored with something yet it never happens on DVDs…well, I'm not into shopping kind of person..buy new clothes etc when required to...good God..

Imagine this fact; an engineer with at least 2-3 years of experience would earn about RM3000 and more on monthly basis…estimation based/depending on company and field of engineering (Penang)

Monthly Expenses consist of;
House Rent, Car Installment, Utility Bills (electricity, water, astro, broadband and etc), Credit Cards, Life/Health Insurance, Entertainment (DVDs, night out, fine dining, movies and etc), Family Allocation (Parents or siblings), Own Expenses (Foods, groceries, car fuel and etc)

How much would you think this person would possibly fork out every month into saving account??

And what if that person has a family of 2 kids??
That’s the basic necessity of a normal person would have…well, some might not have Life/Health Insurance or credit card or might not even go out with friends/colleagues during weekend for a good relaxation…which indicate more money into saving??

Last couple of years ago...my salary was just “ciput”…and I wished I could have a better salary but once it got better…it doesn’t really resolve the financial although it improves the living little by little months after another…it reminds me of why most rich people would say…rich is just a title in a society but it doesn’t really up-lift your life to something extraordinary…of course you can have all the luxury but they come with higher price tags than you’ve had before...more earning means more expenses…

A draft beer of this size for the price of normal draft beer today??
This couple of weeks…my so called business is looking good…thanks to a friend because he’s willing to help me running it when I needed his help...I’d pay for his services though….hopefully things will get better and better….

Would you prefer to be rich, moderate or poor?

I’m thankful I’m at moderate level and wish I would be able to pay up all the debt soon…especially credit cards…hehe…

Emotion over money??
I know that emotion without money would not work as well....1 over 10 could probably work it out with the help of love cupids but the rest, 9 would need more than cupid to work things out...haha...living in the materialistic world now has affected our mind into believing money is everything.....*sigh*

Tika dan saat ini

Tepat 8:25am...jam lonceng di telefon bimbit aku berdering menandakan masa untuk berbuka posa (ngok! mana ada orang buka posa 8:25am and I'm a Christian la...)

Sebuah cinta hilang
Saat begini ternanti-nanti
Bayangmu sayang...

Bertanya-tanya pada sang bunga
Mengapa layu jua
Bertanya-tanya dihujung rindu
Kau pun berlalu

Ku ulangi pertemuan
Walau hanya ku mendakap sisa cinta
Bersama rindu yang terdampar
Saat ini aku sendiri menangisi
Pemergianmu kekasih
Dan cuba memujuk rindu
Yang pedih tercalar
Di sudut ingatanku
Airmataku kau renang bahagia

Tika begini aku sendiri
Kau menyepikan diri
Saat begini kau padu janji
Kasih yang baru
Kumasih sendiri...

*Want to get ready to work now...
